Program Overview
The Attention to Prevention Action Civics Program spans three units—Research (6 lessons), Communication (5 lessons), and Advocacy (4 lessons)—meant to be taught over the course of a full semester. Unit 1 builds a rigorous research foundation by teaching students to frame community issues, navigate legislative sources, evaluate evidence, map stakeholders, compile a report, and reflect on findings. Unit 2 translates that research into clear, persuasive products—policy briefs, op-eds, infographics, digital campaigns, and press materials. Unit 3 turns messages into action with public-speaking skills, mock hearings, stakeholder meetings, and structured reflection—equipping students to advocate effectively.
